Product Description
Total coliform bacteria represent a diverse group of bacteria within the coliform family. These microorganisms are prevalent in the environment, particularly in water and soil, where they can be found in significant numbers at depths of up to forty to fifty feet. Coliform bacteria can enter food samples through contaminated water, poor hygiene during food handling, or contact with contaminated surfaces. Foods that are commonly tested for coliforms include dairy products, meat, fruits, and vegetables. If coliform bacteria are detected in a water sample, an automatic test for E. coli will be conducted to further evaluate water safety.
